My Idea for my coin holder
When I learned that I would be making something from a 3D printer, I already knew that I would make a coin holder. I had a lot of coins at home, and I needed a way to sort them rather than just leaving them around. I decided to make the sorter a L shape with a big base.
After that, I made two ramps with one leading to the sorter and one with the holes and a coin exit to sort them.
To finish the design, I made the viewing box with a slant for viewing more coins, curved the front edges, made coin lables, and shorted the base.
Making the Coin Sorter
After I finished my design, I opened Makerbot and I Opened the design. I made sure that the side it would print from and the size where correct and then I slaved it onto my flash drive, which I would take down to the 3D printer.
When the file was ready to go, I chose the printer with the color I wanted, and I opened up my file on the printer and clicked print.
What I learned
During this rotation, I learned a lot about using Inventor, as I am very new to it. I also learned more about how the 3D printers work. I am also very thankful that I was able to use the 3D printer. Overall, I learned a lot during the IPA rotation.
